About me

I am a writer, educator, organic farm consultant, herb grower  and naturopath. I am also an avid traveler and have traveled extensively in India, to remote tribal areas and off beat places. I have  been practicing and promoting agnihotra since the past decade as it is a simple yet invaluable tool for healing, mental peace, self-discovery and environmental rejuvenation. I have also supported other worthy social initiatives at the grassroots level. Believing in leaving a low carbon footprint  I  try and use public transport wherever possible, says no to plastics, grow a few selected herbs and vegetables in my home garden in Lucknow, most notably sabah snake grass  (clinacanthus nutans) or vishalata.  I love going for long nature walks and also practice yoga and meditation.

Experience

Naturopathic consultation: I have been advising people on how to achieve optimal health  primarily by guiding them to adopt a healthy, balanced diet since diet is the very foundation of naturopathy as practiced in India. For this I consult with the patient and then draw up an extensive diet chart which may be 20-25 pages long or more depending on the issues being faced by the patient. Along with diet I also recommend certain vitamins, minerals and food supplements which can easily be purchased online by urban and now even by small town people.

Metabolic health:  My own growth as a naturopath or rather as a healer led me to deepen my understanding of metabolic health and issues related to metabolic health being faced by majority of people over the age of 40. I began with  myself and later extended my guidance to people who approached me, especially those facing diabetes, obesity, dementia, Alzheimer’s and autoimmune issues like rheumatoid arthritis.

Cancer : Several cancer patients and their families have approached me in the past decade or so. I am happy to say that many of these patients who followed my dietary and lifestyle advice faithfully were able to go into complete remission and are now leading cancer free lives with their families. Apart from a low carbohydrate high fat diet (LCHF) , I have also utilized cannabis medicine for those patients who are open and receptive to the use of cannabis medicine. I am also a member of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians which is based in USA.

Philosophy

My approach to health is a holistic approach. My training as a Reki master has impressed upon me the importance of spiritual healing as an integral part of any healing protocol. For those patients who are open and receptive to spiritual healing modalities like Reiki and Pranic Healing, I recommend such healing by known and experienced healers. I also recommend homeopathic medicine, siddha medicine and ayurvedic medicine by known and experienced practitioners whom I know. For those who are able to travel and can afford  treatment at ayurvedic and nature cure centers, I recommend treatment at such centers since I know several such centers throughout the length and breadth of India. There are nature cure centers dedicated to the treatment of cancer patients, though results may vary from patient to patient. In short, there are centers to suit every budget in different parts of India, though the mainstream media only writes about the expensive, luxury resorts and centers.

Mission

My mission is to promote good health and to develop awareness about metabolic health issues by common people especially those who are over 40 years of age. Good, fresh, organically grown food and herbs and ghee prepared from A2 cow milk are vital in achieving good health.   I have been involved with the organic movement of India for the past two decades, supporting and encouraging small farmers and self-help groups to practice organic cultivation of traditional Indian crops and foods.  Therefore I can easily guide patients about where to source genuine foods, herbs and ghee at affordable prices,  as I am plugged into an all India network of small organic farmers, growers and goshalas. My book ANNAM BRAHMA : Organic Food in India was published in 2009 by Pilgrims Publishing, Varanasi and is now available on amazon India

I have been an avid organic gardener and seed saver. For the past  two decades  I have also been a consultant to the Indian tea industry, fruit growers and spice growers on organic methods of cultivation, including the ancient methods of vrikshayurveda. I have given private consultancies to farm and plantation owners who wish to adopt organic methods of farming in toto.

Herbal teas and more

I have been offering a carefully curated selection of herbal teas and Assam teas under the brand name of Peyaa to tea and herb connoisseurs since 2020. I have been growing Sabah snake grass/vishalata  (clinacanthus nutans) in my own herb garden in Lucknow for the past ten years and am now offering it under my brand name Peyaa to the general public.  Vishalata (sabah snake grass)  is a wonderful herb, high in antioxidants and useful in a number of diseases like covid, dengue, diabetes, cancer , autoimmune diseases and so on. Sabah snake grass is very popular in Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. Though relatively unknown in India, its healing properties are now slowly being recognized in urban India too.
